About The Position

The Head of Business Execution for North America, Citi Private Bank, is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the strategic execution and operational excellence of the Citi Private Bank across the North American region. This role involves overseeing key business initiatives, ensuring efficient operations, managing strategic projects, and enhancing overall business performance in alignment with regional objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with the Wealth COO and the Head of Citi Private Bank, North America, to translate strategic vision into actionable plans and ensure robust implementation, contributing to the commercial objectives of the business and the strategic direction of Citi Wealth and the firm more broadly. This role will also play a key part in supporting the CPB NAM head and working with their leadership team to manage the day-to-day aspects of the business. This role requires a highly experienced and dynamic leader who can navigate a complex environment, drive significant initiatives, and contribute directly to the growth and profitability of Citi Private Bank in North America. Citi Private Bank, NAM serves ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, providing a comprehensive suite of financial services tailored to their complex needs. This includes investment management, private banking, lending, wealth planning, trust and estate services, and access to capital markets. The business focuses on building deep client relationships to offer personalized strategies for wealth creation, preservation, and transfer across generations.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in financial services, with a significant portion in private banking, wealth management, or related institutional businesses
  • Prior success working in a large, highly-matrixed, and complex organization; able to set priorities and 'triage' in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven track record of successful strategic execution, operational management, and large-scale project leadership
  • A solid conceptual/practical grounding and/or experience within private banking and the products typically offered in these segments is preferred
  • Hands-on orientation with the demonstrated ability to set up internal processes to communicate and resolve issues
  • Strategically minded with a track record of execution excellence.
  • Proven financial acumen, critical thinker with the ability to provide an impartial, consultative, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities with a commitment to client and team member experience, goals of practice, and productivity.
  • Demonstrated planning, delegation, financial reporting, and budgeting skills.
  • Consistently detail-oriented, goal-oriented, and able to work in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills required in order to influence a wide range of audiences.
  • Technical knowledge, in-depth knowledge of Profit and Loss (P&L), and understanding of end-to-end business operating systems.
  • Customer and client focus; record of achievement in applying a client-centric mindset to shape solutions and approaches.
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives and for CPB NAM business, ensuring alignment with global Wealth strategies and local market needs
  • Drive medium to long-term plans, coordination, and oversight of uplift programs across the CPB NAM leadership team, executing strategies requiring global coordination and integration across lending products and regions.
  • Manage complex projects and programs from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Develop business cases to drive strategic partnerships across Wealth that give Citi a competitive advantage with clients
  • Support medium to long-term plans and functional strategies requiring coordination and integration across units within Wealth and the broader Citi organization
  • Oversee the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the North America Private Bank business, identifying areas for improvement, streamlining processes, and implementing best practices
  • Coordinate and manage activities such as tracking business financials, employee headcount, audits, business continuity, regulatory issues, and other administrative needs/ad hoc projects
  • Oversee the design, enhancement, implementation, reporting, and oversight of budgets, financials and operations
  • Partner with leadership teams on resource allocation, productivity initiatives, and realization of cost efficiency. Engage in cost management activities as appropriate
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the CPB NAM leadership team, product partners, control functions, and technology teams
  • Ensure stakeholder buy-in for strategic initiatives, including key stakeholders across the client segments
  • Partner with the leadership team to set goals for the region and ensure tracking and ROI measuring are in place for all initiatives
  • Act as a delegate for the CPB NAM head when required in certain meetings
  • Assist with scorecard management and tracking, working closely with leaders and finance
  • Manage a small team of professionals, including budgeting, planning, policy formulation, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, and disciplinary actions
  • Ensure robust governance and control frameworks are in place and adhered to, working closely with compliance, legal, and risk management teams to mitigate operational and regulatory risks.
  • Monitor strict adherence to governance and ensure risks are addressed, setting high standards of professionalism across all functions.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets.
  • Reinforce and support management across the group function, with a focus on fostering a culture of controls and accountability
  • Drive culture and people initiative across the region including VOE
