About The Position

Citi's Banking franchise operates across Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, and Commercial Banking. The Banking Business Execution (BBE) team is responsible for driving integrated strategy, execution discipline, and cross-business initiatives that enhance performance, efficiency, and scalability. The Head of Business Execution for Corporate & Commercial Banking is a senior role serving as a key partner to the Co-Heads of Corporate Banking and the Head of Commercial Banking. This role is accountable for advancing strategic priorities, driving execution across a complex global platform, and ensuring consistent, high-quality business management and risk & controls across both businesses, inclusive of the Global Network Business (GNB). Acting as a trusted advisor and delegate to senior leadership, this individual represents the businesses in key governance forums, orchestrates cross-functional initiatives, and ensures alignment across product groups, geographies, and functional partners. The role combines strategic leadership, operational rigor, and strong stakeholder management to deliver growth, productivity, and disciplined execution at scale.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in banking, business management, strategy, or consulting, with significant leadership experience in large, complex organizations.
  • Understanding of Corporate and Commercial Banking, including client segments, product landscape, and operating model.
  • Proven track record of leading and executing large-scale strategic initiatives across a global, matrixed environment.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical capability, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive consensus.
  • Strong execution focus with ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including building and developing high-performing teams and fostering collaboration across geographies and functions.
  • Relevant FINRA licenses (e.g., Series 24, 63, 79) preferred; candidates who do not currently hold these licenses must be willing and able to obtain them upon hire.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Co-Heads of Corporate Banking and the Head of Commercial Banking to define, evolve, and implement strategy across both businesses and the GNB.
  • Drive the identification, prioritization, and execution of strategic initiatives spanning growth, client strategy, market share expansion, and business transformation.
  • Serve as a senior delegate in internal governance, executive committees, and cross-business forums, ensuring the businesses' priorities, risks, and opportunities are clearly represented.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team of business execution professionals.
  • Drive innovation and identify opportunities to leverage technology and data analytics to enhance business performance.
  • Oversee business performance management, including revenue and expense planning, target setting, productivity tracking, and KPI reporting.
  • Drive rigorous management routines, including operating cadences, executive reporting, and performance reviews to support decision-making.
  • Partner with Finance on budgets, outlooks, and resource allocation, ensuring strong expense discipline and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with HR to ensure both businesses are properly resourced and well positioned to grow.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on business performance, client segments, and market dynamics, synthesizing insights into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and reports to communicate key findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Oversee the management and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for Corporate & Commercial Banking.
  • Establish and maintain a robust operating framework across Corporate & Commercial Banking, including governance, planning, and execution disciplines.
  • Drive consistency in processes, policies, and best practices across business teams and regions, enhancing efficiency and scalability.
  • Lead prioritization and execution of transformation initiatives, including technology investments, data strategy, and process simplification.
  • Coordinate across product groups, geographies, and functions to deliver complex, multi-year programs and change initiatives.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Banking, including product partners, regional leadership, and functions (Finance, Risk, HR, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Client Organization and International).
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting knowledge sharing, skill development, and open communication.
  • Effectively manage and resolve conflicts, ensuring alignment and buy-in across different teams and stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop a global team of Business Execution professionals, fostering a high-performance culture, collaboration, and talent development.
  • Drive alignment across a highly matrixed organization, influencing outcomes without direct authority and resolving competing priorities effectively.
  • Support senior leaders in communications, executive materials, and key internal and external messaging.
  • Ensure robust risk management and adherence to regulatory requirements, policies, control frameworks and KYC requirements.
  • Act as a key partner to Risk, Compliance, and Audit, supporting remediation efforts, audit readiness, and ongoing control enhancements.
  • Promote a strong culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct across the organization.
