About The Position

SparkX is seeking a founding Business Development leader to establish and grow its DTC business within the U.S. market. This role is pivotal in driving revenue through direct client acquisition and strategic partnerships, thereby solidifying the company's presence in the U.S. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with global leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver integrated marketing and AI-driven solutions to DTC brands. SparkX is a global growth partner for next-generation DTC brands, combining full-funnel marketing execution with AI-driven technology. Founded by a team with backgrounds from leading New York-based media groups such as Omnicom and WPP, SparkX was built with a deep understanding of global brand building, performance marketing, and cross-border growth. With headquarters and teams across Seattle, London, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, we bring a truly global perspective to DTC growth. We partner with some of the most innovative brands across consumer and technology sectors — including Musely, COROS, Anker, Insta360, Alibaba.com, and Roborock — helping them scale their global presence through integrated media buying and growth strategies. Our capabilities span the full DTC growth stack: Growth strategy and go-to-market planning, Performance media (Meta, Google, TikTok, and emerging channels), Account management and client success, AI-powered marketing tools and automation, Advanced analytics and performance insights. We are especially focused on high-growth categories such as AI startups, consumer electronics, smart hardware, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and emerging categories like robotic and outdoor automation products. Our vision is to become the go-to growth partner for global DTC brands — leveraging our full-funnel digital marketing expertise and AI capabilities to help brands scale efficiently and sustainably in the U.S. and beyond.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years in BD / partnerships / growth roles in DTC, eCommerce, or digital marketing
  • Proven track record of closing high-value deals
  • Deep understanding of Shopify ecosystem and paid media (Meta, Google, TikTok)

Nice To Haves

  • Existing network with DTC brands or founders in the U.S.
  • Experience with agencies, MarTech, or growth platforms
  • Cross-border business experience (China ↔ U.S.)

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end sales for DTC marketing solutions (media buying, growth strategy, creative, AI-driven tools)
  • Identify, pitch, and close mid-to-large DTC brands
  • Own pipeline development and revenue targets
  • Develop partnerships with key ecosystem players (Meta, Google, TTD, Shopify, Kickstarter etc.)
  • Design and execute referral or co-marketing programs
  • Build long-term strategic alliances to drive lead generation
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences
  • Organize or co-host DTC-focused events
  • Build relationships within the U.S. DTC ecosystem
  • Collaborate with account and operations teams to ensure delivery excellence
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Act as the voice of the U.S. market internally
