Motherly Head of Brand Partnerships / Executive Director

Parents Together FoundationNew York, NY
$170,000 - $400,000Remote

About The Position

Founded in 2015, Motherly has been a destination for people on their pregnancy journey, first-time moms, and everything in between. In 2025, Motherly joined the ParentsTogether Media Network with a mission to inform, entertain, and engage Gen Z and millennial parents so that all parents and families thrive. The Executive Director, Brand Partnerships will play a defining role in this next chapter, helping shape what cultural parenting media at scale looks like in this moment. Our strategy framework is based on lean startup principles: we try out ideas quickly, see what works, and iterate. We work collaboratively to solve challenges together, and we drive impact on high-stakes issues in a positive, low-ego, low-drama work environment. The Executive Director, Brand Partnerships will lead the revenue-driving team. This role combines strategic selling, team leadership, and revenue operations. You'll own relationships with top accounts, set and execute revenue strategy, and coach a growing team of sellers and account managers. If you're equal parts closer, coach, and builder, this is the role for you. This role combines a passion for lifestyle and parenting content with a builder's mentality — someone who's energized by developing GTM strategies and selling a vision rather than managing an existing book. Motherly is revolutionizing parenting content, because nobody can do this alone. Being motherly takes a village, let’s build it. We're looking for an entrepreneurial, idea-first seller who is excited to transform Motherly's mission into multi-format, cross-platform content that reaches Gen Z and millennial parents at scale. The Senior Director, Brand Partnerships (Retail + CPG Food/Bev + Finance) will work to develop new and existing client relationships, identify paid brand partnership opportunities, and work with a support team to build and execute strategic, multi-platform proposals and campaigns. This is a player/coach role reporting into the CEO — you'll build your own decks, plans, and pitches, and own the opportunity to build a book of business from the ground up.

Requirements

  • 10+ year's experience in digital media sales with experience leading teams
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and generating new business
  • Experience managing a small-to-mid-sized sales/account management team, with a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and empower
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a proven track record as a builder — someone who's grown new business, new accounts, or new products from the ground up, and thrives on that kind of ownership
  • Experience selling customized campaigns across platforms with a focus on social-first video, podcasts, creator collaborations and events.
  • Deep understanding of video as a sales product — how to position it, price it, sell it in, and creatively execute it from concept to delivery
  • Extensive contacts in digital media including decision-makers at brands
  • Familiarity and strong enthusiasm for the brand, content verticals and products and the utility we offer to our audience
  • Understanding of and empathy for the experiences of parents and caregivers; prior experience in parenting, lifestyle, or women-focused media is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • A willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events

Nice To Haves

  • You've built and closed new business from scratch, bringing in accounts and categories that didn't exist on the roster before
  • You've sold in brands as the launch partners for new social video franchises, live events, or other original IP.
  • You have the ability to create your own proposal decks and strategic plans independently, with minimal hand-holding, when necessary
  • Your pipeline and client list reflect real relationship equity you've built and carried across categories or platforms
  • You’re a creative, idea-first seller who pitches concepts and IP rather than impressions — someone who thinks beyond the standard media plan

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth by selling advertising and branded content (social-first video, IG placements, custom podcasts, etc.) with a focus on new business generation and top-tier account relationships.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and leadership to design and execute revenue strategies, go-to-market plans, and product development
  • Create sales and marketing collateral and decks, with a deep understanding of insight-based pitching
  • Lead and coach the sales team with hands-on mentorship, driving them to personal growth and revenue success.
  • Build and optimize our revenue operations in partnership with the CEO, including pipeline management, forecasting, CRM hygiene, and performance reporting
  • Manage the sales process from prospecting through to campaign completion
  • Manage a healthy book of business with autonomy and against a defined P&L
  • Leverage relationships at brands and agencies across the categories, with a focus on CPG + Finance
  • Maintain sales goals and weekly activity by consistently developing/refining sales strategies and be a driving force on the Motherly team

Benefits

  • health insurance (with cost-share for dependents) for employees
  • three weeks of vacation (plus holidays and the last week of the calendar year off)
  • paid family and sick leave
  • retirement match after six months on staff
  • FSA account
