About The Position

As the Head of Beverages at ALH Hotels, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing the beverage strategy across our portfolio of 350+ hotels and establishments nationwide. Your mission? To elevate guest experiences to new heights, while driving profitability through our beverage offer, exceptional service, and seamless management of beverage-related operations. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally, with many internal teams include operations, food and marketing to create impeccable service and satisfaction of our beverage portfolio, whilst achieving overarching business goals. This position will see you forging partnerships with industry-leading suppliers, identifying and introducing exciting beverage concepts, trends and technologies that elevate guests’ experiences.

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in a senior commercial role, ideally within beverages and the hospitality industry.
• Proven ability to manage a P/L and ability to manage the day to day operation while also driving the longer term strategy.
• Strong understanding of category management principles, promotions, and product marketing.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to forge strong relationships & partnering with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Experience in data analysis, market research, and insights generation.
• In-depth knowledge of beverage trends, industry best practices, and regulatory standards.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and develop teams.
• Adept at budgeting, cost control, and leveraging beverage offerings for maximum profitability.
• Creative mindset and a passion for innovation in beverage offerings.
• Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Google suite - sheets, slides and docs , and other relevant software applications

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of supply chain and logistics principles is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive beverage strategy aligned with ALH Hotel Group's vision and objectives, ensuring consistent quality, creativity, and profitability across all properties.
• Lead the creation, refinement, and diversification of beverage ranges that cater to varying pub segmentations, guest preferences, trends, and local market demands, while maintaining a focus on excellence and sustainability.
• Identify and introduce new and exciting beverage concepts, trends, and data and technologies that elevate our guests' experiences, reinforcing ALH Hotel Group's reputation as a pioneer in the hospitality industry.
• Cultivate and manage strong relationships with beverage suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely and reliable deliveries to support uninterrupted operations.
• Work closely with the finance team to develop budgets, monitor expenses, manage rebates & trading terms and analyze financial data, making informed decisions to maximize profitability and minimise costs while delivering exceptional value to guests.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant local, state, and national regulations pertaining to beverage service, alcohol licensing, health and safety, and environmental sustainability.
• Monitor and respond to guest feedback, reviews, and trends, leveraging insights to enhance beverage offerings and service delivery, and ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
• Work closely with the Food team, marketing, operations and Retail teams to create integrated campaigns, events, and promotions that enhance the overall guest experience and drive revenue.
• Generate regular reports and present data-driven insights to senior management, evaluating the performance of beverage initiatives, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing actionable recommendations
• Develop talent pipelines and future leaders by providing regular feedback, creating meaningful development plans, and ensuring succession plans.
