Requirements

Strong expertise in advanced market underwriting, including both field underwriting and knowledge of individual insurance products.
Ability to navigate complex environments with credibility, leadership, and a collaborative approach.
Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to simplify and explain complex underwriting and sales concepts to diverse audiences.
Ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams while fostering talent development and knowledge transfer.
Significant experience in underwriting within the advanced market segment, including proven leadership in managing high-impact, cross-functional initiatives.
Advanced level of English proficiency required, as the role involves regular interaction, presentations, and collaboration with partners, distributors, and stakeholders across Canada.

Responsibilities

Assume end-to-end accountability for advanced market cases and national accounts, from pre-underwriting through to in-force servicing.
Develop and position iA’s field underwriting expertise with specialized advisors and distribution partners.
Provide strong technical leadership in both medical and financial risk assessment.
Analyze and assess complex sales concepts to ensure alignment with risk appetite, profitability objectives, and client experience.
Lead and mobilize a multidisciplinary team, including underwriters, case coordinators, and specialized experts (e.g., tax, actuarial), while acting as a credible leader with internal teams, distribution partners, and reinsurers.
Prepare and deliver presentations and training sessions, and actively support talent development and knowledge transfer.
