About The Position

We are searching for a Senior Medical Director for the Movement Disorders Early Clinical Development group. The role will act as a member of the NMMD RU leadership team; co-leader of the Movement Disorders therapeutic area. Define and execute Biogen’s program in Parkinson’s disease (PD) and other movements disorders (MDs), in partnership with Head, Preclinical PD and MD, and Sr. Distinguished Investigator, ECD; and in coordination with Head, Clinical Neuromuscular Disorders. This person will also lead and mentor MD clinical team, MD Portfolio Group and RDPLs of related programs. Establish accelerated proof of biology/proof of concept for the current pipeline of assets in PD/MD. Plus build a company-wide pipeline in PD by creating a continuum from target validation to POC clinical studies through both internal and external innovation; serve as an expert for evaluation of external opportunities. This person is also expected to build on their own national and international visibility to represent the excellence and depth of the Biogen PD/MD portfolio both internally and externally.

Requirements

• Prior experience in Parkinson’s or other movement disorders preferred.
• Understanding of biological mechanisms and preclinical development.
• Established team leadership qualities and experience of cross-functional project management is highly important for

Responsibilities

• Lead PD/MD clinical group, including active engagement in key programs
• Lead MD Portfolio Group: establish visibility and alignment for proposed strategy across stakeholders
• Establish functional interactions with groups across Biogen: other RUs and CoEs, LSCD, GCO, QMCT, EPIU and BD
• Represent Biogen at external and internal meetings, including publication of key findings
• Provide guidance to RDPLs and project teams while respecting their independence
• Develop innovative and rapid clinical trial designs, in coordination with Sr. Dist. Investigator and other partners
