About The Position

Nichols College, a member of NCAA Division III located in Dudley, Massachusetts, invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Head Men’s & Women’s Tennis Coach. This position is responsible for the leadership, organization, and administration of the tennis program, supporting both men’s and women’s teams. The Head Coach will work collaboratively with the Director of Athletics to establish vision, direction, and success of the program while fostering a positive student-athlete experience aligned with the mission and philosophy of NCAA Division III athletics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience in collegiate athletics (playing and/or coaching)
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy
  • Strong knowledge of tennis fundamentals, techniques, and strategy
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse campus constituencies
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to perform light lifting and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

  • Collegiate coaching experience
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, attract, and retain qualified student-athletes aligned with institutional goals
  • Plan, organize, and conduct practices and competitions
  • Support and monitor student-athlete academic success and overall development
  • Manage program budget, equipment, and operational needs
  • Coordinate scheduling of practices and competitions
  • Provide coverage and supervision for all team-related activities
  • Engage in fundraising efforts and alumni outreach initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference (CNE), and institutional policies
  • Meet recruiting and roster goals established by the Director of Athletics
  • Attend departmental, institutional, and conference meetings
  • Obtain and maintain institutional driving certification
  • Serve as an active and engaged member of the Division of Athletics
