About The Position

The Head Men's Volleyball Coach is responsible for carrying out all aspects of the sport program necessary to accomplish objectives of the sport within the guidelines of the University, the Athletic department, Heart of America Athletic Conference and the NAIA. This role involves recruiting highly skilled student-athletes, collaborating with campus departments, managing scheduling, budget control, public relations, program promotions, academic support, and retention of student-athletes. The coach is also responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports, adhering to all policies and regulations, and providing leadership to coaches and support personnel. Additionally, the coach must manage team travel, promote core character values, and achieve certification to transport students. Other duties will be assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in playing and/or coaching at collegiate, university, or professional level.
  • Knowledge of NAIA and Heart Athletic Conference rules and regulations.
  • A proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student-athletes academically and athletically.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Pass a pre-employment background investigation.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports, particularly regarding athletic budget, eligibility, compliance, and travel documentation.
  • Adhering to the policies and regulations of the University, Department of Athletics, Heart of America Athletic Conference and NAIA.
  • Orientation and discipline of student-athletes to these guidelines.
  • Providing leadership and direction to assist coaches and other support personnel.
  • Managing and overseeing the team on road trips and managing all related sports activities.
  • Promoting and demonstrating the five core character values: Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.
  • Achieving certification to transport students to team athletic events.
  • Performing other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.
