About The Position
The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking experienced, friendly, and high-energy Head Lifeguards . We are offering a $260 bonus for new staff, and a free family membership to the YMCA of Central Texas! This position requires a vigilant, safety minded person to maintain a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Shifts Needed: Open for all availability
Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
- Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certification
- One summer season work experience required
- Must demonstrate swimming ability
- Applicants will be required to pass reference checks, a criminal history background check, sex offender check, and pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily operations of all assigned aquatics facilities
- Assist with opening, closing and patron counts
- Ensure proper rotation of guards
- Ensure cleanliness of areas per specific cleaning procedures and standards and assist with pump room basic tasks as instructed
- Be able to verbally communicate with the public and staff
- Assist with in-service training
- Be responsible for finding substitute when needed and reporting substitution(s) to Aquatics Coordinator/Director
- Ensure safety standards are maintained and upheld
