About The Position

The Head Girls' Wrestling Coach is responsible for various aspects of the Girls' Wrestling Program, such as recruiting within the school, training, and coaching team members. Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Employees are required to be in attendance and prepared to begin work at their assigned work location on the specified days and hours. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, managing and supervising athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship. The coach will use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in Girls' Wrestling. This role involves coordinating the development, promotion, and recruitment for the Girls' Wrestling Program, holding organizational meetings for team prospects, and encouraging potential athletes to participate. The coach will ensure all Girls' Wrestling coaches work together toward a common goal and provide unity within youth community programs. A regular practice schedule will be developed and practice time organized for both individual and team development. The coach will assess players’ skills, assign team positions, and determine game strategy based on the team’s capabilities. Monitoring and enforcing student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation is also a key responsibility. The coach must encourage sportsmanlike conduct at all times and take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, and facilities. Maintaining and securing all basketball equipment and uniforms, overseeing the process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all athletic equipment, and maintaining nondiscriminatory practices in all activities are also required.

Requirements

  • Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
  • Must possess some knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.

Responsibilities
