About The Position

The Varsity Field Hockey Coach provides leadership for the Varsity and JV Girls Field Hockey programs including but not limited to: participant and community relations; instructing participants, overseeing safety, supervising instructors and volunteers, budgeting, assisting in scheduling, attending meetings such as coaching clinics, rule interpretation meetings, and any league meetings; preparing reports such as early dismissal times, team rosters, and end of the season reports. This position is directly responsible for the operations of a high school competitive program and works with the Athletic Director to ensure the success of our student-athletes. The candidate should have knowledge of the PIAA rules and fundamentals of the sport and be willing to work with secondary students. Playing or coaching experience is preferred. The coach is to be an exemplary role model for the athletes, school, community, and District.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of PIAA rules and fundamentals of the sport.
  • Willingness to work with secondary students.
  • Desire to work with student-athletes.
  • Enthusiasm, patience, organization, maturity, dependability, and responsibility.
  • Strong written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit staff to assist with the program.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • ACT 34 Criminal History Background Check.
  • Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance from the State of Pennsylvania.
  • FBI Background Check.
  • Adherence to PA School Code and policies set forth by the School Board.
  • Regular attendance to work.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration of character traits.
