About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing and performing a variety of custodial duties to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of a school facility. The Head Custodian II will lead a team of custodians, manage supplies, and perform routine maintenance tasks. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Three (3) years of custodial or janitorial experience.
Experience in a lead or supervisory role is preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to perform all custodial duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Must possess a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a school or institutional setting.
Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct the work of custodial staff.
Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing.
Maintain restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
Respond to emergency cleaning needs.
Assist with event setup and cleanup as needed.
Report maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
