About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the cleaning and maintenance of school facilities. The Head Custodian I will oversee a team of custodians and ensure that all areas of the school are kept clean, safe, and sanitary. This role involves direct supervision of custodial staff, as well as hands-on cleaning duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Previous custodial experience.
Experience in a supervisory role.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct the work of custodial staff.
Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
Maintain restrooms, including cleaning and restocking supplies.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles.
Perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed.
Ensure the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Respond to emergency cleaning needs.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines.
Report any facility issues or concerns to management.
