About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the cleaning, maintenance, and general upkeep of school facilities. The Head Custodian I ensures that the school environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning. This role involves supervising custodial staff, managing supplies, and performing hands-on cleaning duties.

Requirements

• High school graduation or other equivalent (General Educational Development (GED), foreign equivalency, etc.)
• Six (6) months’ experience as a Custodian in CCSD.
• A valid driver’s license or state-issued identification card.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing floors, surfaces, and restrooms.
• Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed, such as changing light bulbs or fixing leaky faucets.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Ensure the security of the building by locking doors and windows at the end of the day.
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and request reorders as necessary.
• Supervise and direct the work of other custodial staff.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
