About The Position

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Head Cook for Legends Global/ Stockton Complex. This role is directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; and training of employees in methods of cooking, preparation, and plate presentation. The Head Cook will manage the event day operation of the kitchen, coordinate food production, and ensure the highest level of food quality, taste, and presentation. This position also supervises temporary labor and fulfills service per each Banquet Event Order (BEO). Responsibilities include preparing recipes as directed, maintaining all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance, designing buffet food presentations, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • 1 year experience in a banquet facility preparing meals for large events.
  • 1 year experience in culinary.
  • Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications, and problem solving.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Work independently, exercising good judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others while working.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, lifting, stooping, and walking.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Food Handler’s Permit or ability to obtain one upon hire.
  • Attend all Legends Global Alcohol and Policy Training Classes.
