About The Position

Alloy Personal Training is seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly accountable Head Coach to lead coaching delivery, member results, team development, and the overall training experience for a premium personal training studio serving the North Bergen County market. This is a full-time coaching leadership opportunity for an accomplished Personal Trainer, Head Coach, Fitness Manager, Assistant Fitness Manager, Personal Training Manager, Strength Coach, or Fitness Director who thrives in a personalized coaching environment and wants to make a lasting impact on members, coaches, and studio performance. The Head Coach may coach up to 34 hours per week while also leading the coaching team, maintaining Alloy’s programming and service standards, supporting member retention, participating in consultations, and working closely with the General Manager and ownership. This is an ideal opportunity for a talented fitness professional who wants to remain deeply connected to coaching while advancing into a meaningful studio leadership position. Located in one of Northern New Jersey’s most desirable markets, this Alloy studio will serve a relationship-driven North Bergen County community that values premium service, personalized attention, measurable results, and long-term wellness. You’ll work with members who want more than access to equipment or another crowded group fitness class. Alloy members are seeking expert guidance, individualized programming, accountability, meaningful relationships, and a training experience designed around their specific goals and abilities. You’ll have the opportunity to coach consistently, lead other fitness professionals, elevate the member experience, and directly influence retention, reputation, and overall studio performance. The Head Coach will take ownership of coaching quality, programming execution, member engagement, trainer development, team accountability, and the consistent delivery of the Alloy experience. You’ll partner closely with the General Manager and ownership to ensure that every member receives exceptional coaching, personalized attention, and measurable value from their membership.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of personal training, strength coaching, fitness coaching, or related professional experience.
  • Previous leadership, Head Coach, Fitness Manager, or team development experience strongly preferred.
  • Nationally recognized personal training certification.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of functional movement, strength training, exercise progression, and safe program execution.
  • Experience coaching adults with varying fitness levels, goals, limitations, and training histories.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident conducting fitness assessments, progress reviews, and member consultations.
  • Comfortable giving constructive feedback and holding coaches accountable.
  • Highly dependable, prepared, professional, and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable working within established programming and operating systems.
  • Available for early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends based on studio needs.
  • Motivated by member results, team development, and meaningful professional growth.
  • Passionate about changing lives through health and fitness.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the member experience, coaching schedules, programming execution, trainer performance, onboarding process, retention practices, and overall training environment.
  • Strengthen performance throughout the coaching department.
  • Deliver exceptional customized small-group personal training sessions.
  • Execute Alloy’s science-backed programming and coaching methodology.
  • Provide appropriate exercise modifications and progressions based on each member’s abilities, limitations, and goals.
  • Conduct fitness assessments, goal-setting sessions, progress reviews, and member consultations.
  • Create meaningful relationships with members and maintain a highly personalized coaching environment.
  • Learn each member’s goals, history, preferences, and individual training considerations.
  • Monitor member attendance, engagement, progress, and overall satisfaction.
  • Identify disengaged or at-risk members and partner with the General Manager on retention outreach.
  • Lead, mentor, train, and develop coaches to consistent performance standards.
  • Provide coaches with ongoing feedback, education, and professional-development support.
  • Maintain accountability for session preparation, coaching quality, member communication, and team performance.
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings, coaching meetings, and performance-development sessions.
  • Support prospective-member consultations and communicate the value of Alloy’s training model.
  • Assist with member onboarding and ensure a seamless transition into the coaching experience.
  • Maintain accurate member notes, assessments, programming information, and progress documentation.
  • Ensure the training floor, equipment, and studio environment remain clean, safe, organized, and member-ready.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on staffing, scheduling, retention, and the overall member experience.
  • Follow and execute Alloy’s coaching and operating systems.
  • Lead by example while building a professional, positive, accountable, and team-first coaching culture.
  • Take genuine ownership of coaching quality, member results, and training-department performance.
