About The Position

Springfield School District seeks a Head Coach for Middle School Boys Basketball who is committed to the school’s mission and vision. Candidates are hired based on relevant experience and demonstrated responsibility and flexibility. The coach will support student-athletes’ academic achievement, organize and attend practices and contests, and work directly with the Varsity Head Coach. The position requires a flexible schedule, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The search will remain open until filled. Equal Opportunity Employer.

• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of basketball rules and strategies.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the public.
• High level of ethical behavior.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a coach preferred.
• Experience as a player preferred.
• Coaching certifications preferred (NFHS).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to raising the academic achievement of all student-athletes.
• Organize and attend all practices and contests.
• Work directly with the Varsity Head Coach.

• Carry out other sport- or coaching-related duties assigned by the athletic director.
