About The Position

The Head Coach for Girls Wrestling will be responsible for leading the team, managing athletes, and possessing extensive knowledge of the sport. This role requires demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage large groups of students/athletes. The coach will also need to ensure all necessary certifications and educational requirements are met.

Requirements

  • BA/BS from a regionally accredited program/university in FLDOE certificate subject area
  • Florida Instructional Certification (any subject)
  • Florida Athletic Coaching Certification [Professional 5 Year or Temporary 3 Year Athletic Coaching Certificate issued by the State of Florida Department of Education or be eligible and apply upon extension of offer]
  • Two (2) years documented sport specific and age level (Secondary) specific (Varsity vs. Freshman/JV) coaching experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the sport at the competition level.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the management of large groups of students/athletes.

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS from a regionally accredited program/university.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years documented sport specific and grade level specific (Varsity vs. Freshman/JV) coaching experience.
  • College Level coaching may substitute for High School coaching experience.
  • Completion of Sports Specific, Sports Medicine, and Sports Theory courses.
  • Valid CPR card from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the girls' wrestling team.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the sport at the competition level.
  • Exhibit demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Manage large groups of students/athletes effectively.
