About The Position

The Head Coach manages and supports a SGA club team at Babson College. The coach mentors student club members, supports their development, and helps the group grow as a team. The role includes preparing the club for competition, overseeing its competitive strategy, and supporting students’ physical health. Student issues or concerns must be communicated to appropriate members of the Babson community.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Experience surrounding the club and prior experience with the sport as a player or coach at the collegiate or professional level.
Complete the “Concussion Awareness - Coaches and Athletic Staff” training course, or a substitute course approved by Babson College Sports Medicine.
Obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certification from the Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Complete Title IX training as required of all Babson College employees.
Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A, take thoughtful risks, and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to achieve results.
Ability to anticipate and embrace change, demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and use new skills and challenging tasks, and remain flexible in changing conditions.
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

Serve as a mentor to members of the club.
Teach club members teamwork and help them learn from mistakes as part of the cycle of Entrepreneurial Thought and Action.
Plan and execute practice sessions to prepare the club for competition.
Design physical training sessions and coordinate with medical training staff to support students’ physical health while participating in the club.
Create and manage the club’s strategy in competition.
Communicate student issues or concerns to appropriate members of the Babson community.
Assume additional responsibilities as required.
