About The Position

Emory & Henry University, a member of NCAA Division II and the South Atlantic Conference, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as Head Coach, Women’s Lacrosse. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program, including coaching, recruiting, academic support, program management, and compliance with NCAA and institutional policies. The role is essential in advancing the University’s commitment to excellence in academics, athletics, and character development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Coaching experience in women’s lacrosse at the collegiate or club level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Sports Management, Education, or related field.
  • Experience as a collegiate head coach.
  • Background in program development and staff supervision.
  • Familiarity with recruiting software and video analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement practice plans, game strategies, and conditioning programs that foster competitive success.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to student-athletes, emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
  • Analyze game film and opponents to prepare competitive strategies.
  • Recruit student-athletes who meet academic standards and possess athletic potential to contribute to the team’s success.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with high school, club coaches, and recruiting networks.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA recruiting rules and university policies.
  • Monitor academic progress and coordinate with academic support services to ensure eligibility and success.
  • Promote leadership, wellness, and life skills development among student-athletes.
  • Support an inclusive and positive team culture that fosters student-athlete well-being.
  • Manage all operational aspects of the program including budgeting, travel, equipment, and scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate records related to recruiting, eligibility, and team performance.
  • Ensure adherence to NCAA, South Atlantic Conference, and institutional policies.
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and other support staff.
  • Collaborate with athletic training, strength & conditioning, compliance, and sports information personnel.
  • Represent the lacrosse program in university, community, and alumni engagements.
