About The Position

Franklin Pierce University (FPU) is seeking an experienced and collaborative professional to lead the development and launch of the women’s flag football program. This role involves establishing the program's structure, policies, daily operations, and long-term competitive vision. The Head Coach will plan and direct all practices, training, and game preparation, while recruiting, evaluating, and retaining student-athletes aligned with institutional goals and building the inaugural roster. The position oversees all program operations, including budget management, scheduling, travel, equipment, and facility setup, and implements systems for long-term sustainability. Key responsibilities include supporting student-athlete academic success and personal development, maintaining full compliance with NCAA, conference, and University regulations, representing the institution professionally, and contributing to conference-wide growth initiatives. The role aims to establish a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture with clear standards for accountability, leadership, and student-athlete development, shaping the program’s identity and values. Additional duties include game management, participation in institutional events, and support of special events. The selected candidate will be hired in advance of the Fall 2027 competition start to recruit throughout the 2026–27 academic year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Prior coaching experience.
  • Prior recruiting experience.
  • Experience building, launching, or growing a program.
  • Strong understanding of NCAA rules and compliance requirements or the ability to quickly develop that knowledge.
