About The Position

This position is for a Head Coach for Volleyball at Coyote Hills Elementary. The role involves coaching, managing team activities, and ensuring adherence to school and league rules. The coach will be responsible for developing players' skills, fostering team camaraderie, and potentially traveling for competitions.

Requirements

  • Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Fundamentals of Coaching" course, or approved equivalent (AIA Rule 17.1).
  • Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Concussion in Sports � What You Need to Know" course (AIA Rule 17.1).
  • An Arizona Teaching Certificate OR an Arizona Coaching Certificate OR a certificate verifying completion sport specific course (AIA Rule 17.1.2).
  • Current Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Knowledge of essential skills, techniques, rules and safety concerns for the sport to be coached.
  • Skill in communicating with all stakeholders.
  • Knowledge necessary to adhere to rules set out by AIA and Peoria Unified School District #11.
  • Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's license as driving students to and from competitions may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Coach volleyball players, teaching essential skills, techniques, and rules.
  • Ensure safety concerns for the sport are addressed.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including players, parents, and school administration.
  • Adhere to rules set by AIA and Peoria Unified School District.
  • Attend mandatory school district and AIA meetings.
  • Utilize online platforms required for specific sports like MaxPreps, HUDL, and others.
  • Establish a sense of camaraderie among players through teambuilding, fundraising, and service projects.
