About The Position
This is a Head Coach position for Softball at Oakwood Elementary in Peoria, AZ. The position is part of the Athletics/Activities/Extra Duties Stipends category and is compensated via a stipend. The application period is open until filled.
Requirements
- Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Fundamentals of Coaching" course, or approved equivalent (AIA Rule 17.1).
- Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Concussion in Sports – What You Need to Know" course (AIA Rule 17.1).
- An Arizona Teaching Certificate OR an Arizona Coaching Certificate OR a certificate verifying completion of a sport-specific course (AIA Rule 17.1.2).
- Current Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Knowledge of essential skills, techniques, rules, and safety concerns for the sport.
- Possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Pass a background clearance check.
- Obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's license.
- Complete the online application.

- Knowledge necessary to adhere to rules set out by AIA (www.aiaonline.org) and Peoria Unified School District #11.
Responsibilities
- Establish a sense of camaraderie among players through teambuilding, fundraising, service projects, etc.
- Utilize online platforms required for specific sports like MaxPreps, HUDL, and others.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Adhere to rules set out by AIA and Peoria Unified School District #11.
- Attend mandatory school district and AIA meetings.
- Potentially drive students to and from competitions.
