About The Position

Connecticut College, a member of the NCAA Division III and New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), is conducting a national search for an experienced coach to lead its intercollegiate Men’s Basketball program. Located on a beautiful campus along the Thames River in New London, CT, Connecticut College offers an inspiring environment for both student-athletes and staff. Requirements

Master’s degree preferred in an appropriate area of specialization.
At least 3-5 years of head coaching experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities outlined for this position to develop a competitive program
CPR, and First Aid certification required.
Valid state-issued driver’s license required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to successfully navigate and role model positive communication
Knowledge of common coaching practices and the ability to effectively instruct collegiate athletes.
High integrity in managing confidential information, including Personal Private Information (PPI).
Knowledge of NCAA & NESCAC rules and regulations.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in difficult situations.
Travel is required, as well as the availability to work weekends to fulfill the position’s obligations.
Ability to interact well with a diverse group of individuals from all aspects of the College and the community.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement daily practice plans, conditioning regimens, and skill development throughout the season for the women’s basketball team.
Oversee roster management, team logistics, and daily operations for the team.
Create the team’s competition schedule, make lineup decisions, and report results.
Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment plan in collaboration with the Office of Admission. Perform periodic outreach to team parents and alumni.
Manage all NCAA, NESCAC, and department-related administrative responsibilities. Ensure adherence to College, NESCAC, and NCAA regulations.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise all team travel with approval from the Director of Athletics. Must have the ability to drive 12-passenger and 7-passenger vans for team travel.
Actively participate in program fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the Office of Advancement.
Support the overall development, well-being, and academic success of each student-athlete.
This position requires both night and weekend availability throughout the academic year, as well as attendance at department functions.
