Under general supervision, the Head Coach actively recruits student athletes, schedules games and practices and makes recommendations for scholarships; contributes to the educational mission of the University by offering education, direction and instruction in the area of volleyball. Supervisory responsibility for assistant coaches, graduate assistants, and volunteer coaches. Contributes to the educational mission of the University by coordinating the instruction of student-athletes in the area of volleyball training and competition; Recruits student-athletes for the men's volleyball program; Instructs methods and strategies and coaches student-athletes in the sport; Makes decisions regarding scholarships; Schedules practices and games; Responsible for the transport and supervises players while on the road; Supervises assistant coaching staff and performs performance appraisals; Participates in sport specific and department-wide fundraising initiatives; Conduct camps/clinics in the sport of volleyball; Develop avenues for community engagement and student-athlete personal/career development; Works with Vice President of Athletics, or designee, regarding specific sport budget to ensure fiscal responsibility for all aspects of program including facility rental; Operates the program under the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, ECC and/or the NEC; understanding that a coach can be suspended for a period of time without pay or terminated if found to be involved in significant or repetitive violations of NCAA regulations; Responsible for providing all material relevant to the team (ensuring institutional, NCAA and ECC or NEC compliance) in a timely manner Faculty and staff are expected to maintain the confidentiality of all confidential and proprietary information (including but not limited to: student personal information, student grades, employee personal information, etc.), both during and after their employment with the University. If a faculty or staff member has a question about the confidentiality of a particular matter, he/she should consult their supervisor. Any violation of this rule shall subject the faculty /staff member to disciplinary action, up to and including immediate termination of employment.
