About The Position

The Head Coach - JV Girls Soccer position at Ironwood High School is responsible for leading the junior varsity girls' soccer team. This role involves coaching, team management, and ensuring adherence to school and league regulations. The coach will focus on developing players' skills, fostering teamwork, and representing the school positively.

Requirements

Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Fundamentals of Coaching" course, or approved equivalent (AIA Rule 17.1).
Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Concussion in Sports – What You Need to Know" course (AIA Rule 17.1).
An Arizona Teaching Certificate OR an Arizona Coaching Certificate OR a certificate verifying completion of a sport-specific course (AIA Rule 17.1.2).
Current Certification in CPR and First Aid.
Knowledge of essential skills, techniques, rules, and safety concerns for the sport.
Skill in communicating with all stakeholders.
Knowledge necessary to adhere to rules set out by AIA and Peoria Unified School District.
Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Driving students to and from competitions may be required.

Responsibilities

Coach the junior varsity girls' soccer team.
Develop players' essential skills, techniques, and understanding of the sport's rules.
Ensure player safety and adherence to all sport-related safety concerns.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, and the athletic department.
Adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by the AIA and Peoria Unified School District.
Attend all mandatory school district and AIA meetings.
Utilize online platforms required for specific sports such as MaxPreps, HUDL, and others.
Establish a sense of camaraderie among players through teambuilding, fundraising, and service projects.
