About The Position

Grand Peak Academy is seeking a Head Coach for its Cheerleading program. This part-time, seasonal role is responsible for providing overall leadership, organization, and direction for the cheerleading program. The coach will develop and implement practice plans, routines, and strategies, while instructing and preparing student-athletes for games and competitions. Key aspects of the role include establishing program expectations, supervising assistant coaches, attending all team activities, and managing program operations. The Head Coach will also be responsible for maintaining clear communication with parents and staff, promoting sportsmanship and school spirit, and ensuring compliance with all school and league policies. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a safe environment and adhering to proper safety practices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous coaching experience required
• Demonstrated knowledge of cheerleading fundamentals, safety procedures, and program development
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to supervise staff and build a cohesive team environment
• Completion of Concussion Training or willingness to obtain prior to season start
• Adherence to all Grand Peak Academy policies, including the Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policies
• Mandatory background check and fingerprinting

Nice To Haves

• Cheerleading coaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, organization, and direction of the cheerleading program
• Develop and implement practice plans, routines, cheers, and performance strategies
• Instruct and prepare student-athletes for games, performances, and competitions
• Establish, communicate, and enforce program expectations, standards, and team culture
• Supervise and delegate responsibilities to assistant coach
• Attend and oversee all practices, games, performances, and team activities
• Ensure effective preparation of the team for all performances and competitions
• Manage program operations, including communication, scheduling, uniforms, and equipment
• Maintain clear, respectful communication with parents, school staff, and student-athletes regarding schedules, expectations, and program updates
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, school spirit, and positive representation of Grand Peak Academy
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, and league policies
• Maintain a safe environment and ensure proper cheerleading safety practices are followed
