About The Position

Parkrose High School is seeking a Head Coach for Boys Wrestling for the 2026-2027 season, running from December to February. The position offers a salary of Level C - $6345 (prorated over a 3-month period) and is open until filled. The ideal candidate will have successful coaching experience in wrestling, stay current with innovative techniques, and be responsible for promoting the sport positively within the school district and community. The coach must also meet OSAA and District Eligibility requirements.

Requirements

  • Successful coaching experience in the sport.
  • Keep current with new knowledge and innovative ideas and techniques in the sport.
  • OSAA and District Eligibility requirements met.
  • Experience with high school students and the sport/activity.
  • Verification of identity and prior employment
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance by the State Department of Education.
  • Online district required trainings through online Safe Schools Program
  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED card
  • ASEP/NFHS Coaching certification
  • OSAA Concussion certification
  • OSAA Steroid certification
  • OSAA Heat Prevention Requirement certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide a positive learning environment and be a positive role model for the athletes.
  • Teach the skills necessary for successful performance in the sport.
  • Manage athlete behavior during training sessions, meets and events.
  • Supervise Assistant Coaches.
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations and School Board Policies.
  • Attend all meets and events scheduled for the sport, including coaches’ meetings.
  • Organize and schedule practice sessions on a regular basis with the idea of developing the athlete’s greatest potential.
  • Apply discipline in a firm and positive manner.
  • Promote designated sport throughout the School District and community in a positive and responsible manner.
