About The Position

The Head Clerk maintains total store conditions while in charge of the store, including directing employees across all departments and ensuring customer service is at optimal levels. The role also assists with merchandising and care of the Center Store departments. The position is based at Lucky, 247 E. 18th St., Oakland, California.

Requirements

Wide-ranging knowledge of products and pricing, store layout, safe work and lifting practices, equipment operation, and merchandising.
Ability to learn and retain policies and procedures, work within and promote a team environment, read and write, and perform basic math calculations.
At least six months as a Key Carrier or nine months as a Perimeter Department Manager, or equivalent grocery retail management experience.
Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours.

Responsibilities

Monitor advertisements, promotions, and seasonal changes, and perform or ensure timely display set-ups, schematic changes and resets, signage, and store decoration.
Monitor sales, take inventory, analyze advertised sales, and submit product orders.
Safely and efficiently stock merchandise shelves and displays to maintain an appealing product presentation, adequate supplies, customer satisfaction, and sales.
Oversee and direct checkers, service clerks, and other staff to support efficient customer service, adequate staffing, safe and secure work areas, good store and lot appearance, timely staff relief, and compliant handling.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment for customers and staff.
Check out and total customer purchases.
Perform other Senior or General Clerk assignments.
