The Head Cashier provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. This role involves assisting customers with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise, as well as answering questions about stock, special orders, and program benefits. The Head Cashier also coaches and trains associates, operates a cash register for transactions, returns, and refunds, and prepares the register area for shifts. Additionally, they inspect returned merchandise, process customer orders, look up product information, and record store use items. This position monitors cash levels, manages store entrances and exits to detect security risks, and ensures compliance with housekeeping and safety standards. The Head Cashier operates various store equipment as needed and is responsible for other duties as assigned.
