The Head Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional customer service at both self-checkout and traditional registers. This role involves monitoring multiple self-checkout stations, proactively assisting customers, and engaging with them to recommend products and services. Key duties include processing sales, returns, and refunds, managing cash, and supervising and coaching Front End associates. The Head Cashier also ensures the register area is prepared, inspects returned merchandise, handles customer orders, and maintains store cleanliness and safety by monitoring entrances/exits, detecting security risks, and adhering to safety protocols. Operating various store equipment is also a part of the role.
