Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach - 2026/2027
About The Position
Propel Schools is seeking an Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach for the 26-27 season starting this winter at Propel Andrew Street High School/Propel Braddock Hills High School and Propel Montour High School. The 2026-2027 Boys Varsity Basketball Season is scheduled to begin in November and is anticipated to conclude in February, although the season may end earlier/later depending on if the team participates in postseason. This position includes a seasonal stipend of $3,000. Please note that the stipend will be prorated for coaches who begin after the official start of the season.
Requirements
- Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience
- Up-to-date TB Test
- Act 34 Criminal Clearance
- Act 114 FBI Clearance
- Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
- Mandated Reporter Training
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a head coach or assistant coach
- Playing experience
- Demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the varsity level
- High level of personal organization and planning
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- A commitment to the Propel Habits
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for assembling coaching staff
- Responsibility for supporting the Varsity program with the assistant coach, athletic director and other coaching staff
- Experience implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
- Willingness and ability to attend all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
