About The Position

Mead High School is seeking a Head Boys Soccer Coach for Spring 2027. The coach provides knowledge, motivation, and leadership so students can develop their potential while participating in an athletic program that supports physical well-being, moral character, and social and mental development. The role includes instructing athletes in soccer techniques, rules, and safety; planning and conducting practices; supervising athletes during practices, games, camps, travel, and related activities; and promoting sportsmanship, a healthy lifestyle, and the school’s interscholastic program. Regular practice time is 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The head coach works with the Athletic Director on scheduling practices and competitions, assisting with selection and evaluation of assistant coaches, assigning assistant-coach duties, and coordinating athlete participation with assistant coaches. The coach maintains athlete eligibility and behavior standards, communicates with families and school administrators, and complies with district, conference, state, and WIAA rules and safety procedures. Employment terms and salary are governed by the Mead ExtraCurricular Employees Association collective bargaining agreement and district policies. The salary range is $5,022 to $8,741 per contract; documented paid coaching experience may determine salary placement. Post-season work beyond the last regularly scheduled GSL contest may qualify for a stipend. Employees who are not employed in another district position accrue sick leave at one hour per 40 hours worked. Employees who are not in another benefit-qualifying position and work 630 hours during a school year become benefit-eligible for the remainder of that school year. Standard benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability.
