About The Position
La-kwa sa muqw Forestry (LKSM), is seeking a fully qualified Head Boom Person to join our team in Kelsey Bay, BC. This position offers the chance to contribute to a progressive organization committed to responsible forest management, with strong values in safety and sustainability.
Requirements
- Fully qualified in all aspects of the job with minimum 2 years of experience in BC Coastal Logging
- A valid Intermediate First Aid certificate is required.
- Experience in stowing bundles, swifter, running auger, building stiff legs and standing booms/ building sets is required;
- Excellent safety record and strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves
- Preference may be given to applicants with a valid Advanced First Aid certificate.
Responsibilities
- Strip boomstick booms, and sort boomsticks (good, culls or shorts);
- Inspect gear – remove gear that is worn and place on appropriate float for removal;
- Operate a boom boat to sort bundles by sort identification tags or paint into the appropriate alleys; and
- Swifter booms prior to towing destination.
