WJMS Head Baseball Coach 2026-2027 School Year
About The Position
Coach in various secondary school interscholastic athletic programs. This role involves promoting sports within the schools and community, planning the assigned athletic program, and organizing and supervising practices. The coach will teach fundamental skills, team play, strategy, and the rules of the game, while also emphasizing good sportsmanship and self-control. Responsibilities include checking participant eligibility, providing students with a positive role model and guidance, and conducting learning experiences for student athletes. The coach will also recommend the purchase of necessary equipment, supplies, and uniforms to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of student athletes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
- A minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university
- One year of experience coaching in a school athletic program.
- Proof of Adult CPR/First Aid/ AED Certification
- NFHS Coaching Principles Certification
- KRS 160.445– Heat Related Emergency Training
- Official transcripts and diplomas
- Coaches Code of Ethics Form
- Current W4 Form
- Current Medical Exam with TB test
- Criminal records check
- Copy of driver’s license and Social Security Card, verifying minimum age of 21 years old.

Responsibilities
- Promote sports in the schools and community.

- Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.

- Conduct learning experiences, with small groups of student athletes.
- Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of students athletes.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
