About The Position
Davidson College is seeking a Head Assistant Wrestling Coach to join their Division I program. This role involves training student-athletes, recruiting, fundraising, alumni relations, coordinating team travel, and assisting the head coach in all aspects of the program, including practices and competitions. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
- Successful college wrestling experience
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Computer/technological competency
- Effectiveness in coaching college-level athletes
- Good supervisory skills
- Ability to relate to students in a leadership role
- Understanding of student-athletes in a demanding academic environment
- Commitment to the highest ideals of leadership, sportsmanship, and academics
- Compliance with all Davidson, NCAA, and Southern Conference rules and regulations
- Abiding by the athletic department mission of focused on consistency, accountability, teamwork, and success

- Planning and running practice
- Helping student-athletes prepare for challenges
- On-mat and in-classroom instruction of wrestling coaching techniques and strategies
- Evaluating and developing individual performances in deficient areas
- Participating in comprehensive recruiting activities
- Coordinating with the Admissions Office to establish academic eligibility
- Arranging meetings between prospects and college officials
- Recommending individuals for scholarships
- Video analysis of matches and prospective athletes
- Ensuring direct compliance with NCAA, SoCon, and Davidson College regulations and policies
- Ensuring coaching staff's adherence to NCAA and Davidson College athletics regulations, policies, and overall mission of amateurism
- Closing duty of Baker Sports Complex
