Hino Central is looking for Heavy-Duty Technician Journeyman at our Langley location! Reporting to the Parts and Service Manager, the Heavy-Duty Technician is responsible for providing repairs and maintenance to various heavy & medium duty transport trucks. This position will employ logic and deductive reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting in an independent environment.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Heavy-Duty Technician or Truck & Transport Mechanic trade qualification is required
  • Valid CVIP/MVI license (or qualifies to obtain one)
  • A minimum of a valid class 5 Provincial driver’s license
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

Nice To Haves

  • Red-Seal Certification is preferred
  • Cummins experience is an asset
  • Good all-round knowledge of the trucking industry, part of your experience preferably being with an OEM affiliated dealer.

Responsibilities

  • Assess work orders, diagnose faults and malfunctions by examining the vehicle, using testing equipment, and carrying out test drives
  • Dismantle faulty assemblies and repair or replace worn or damaged parts
  • Reassemble, adjust and test new or repaired components
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups
  • Provide detail about repairs so others understand what work has been done, on general vehicle conditions, and future repair requirements
  • Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards on a continuous basis.
  • Contribute to safety and efficiency by participating in safety meetings and incident investigations
  • Help develop Heavy-Duty Technician apprentices
