About The Position

Moffitt Services is a Texas-based fuel and lubricants distributor committed to providing quality fuels, lubricants, and superior service to customers who operate heavy equipment, generators, automotive and truck fleets, and more. We offer a variety of products including ultra-low sulfur diesel, biodiesel, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), gasoline, ethanol, E85, and kerosene, as well as a full line of quality lubricants. Since 1947, the Moffitt brand has been synonymous with great service. We are currently looking for a dependable, experienced HD Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This is not an entry-level position; we seek an individual who can diagnose problems, work independently, communicate professionally, and take ownership of their work without constant supervision. Our mechanics are crucial in ensuring our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5+ years of diesel mechanic experience
  • Experience working on medium-duty and heavy-duty truck fleets
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
  • PTO, tanker, hydraulic, and fuel system experience
  • PACCAR Davie4 and/or Cummins INSITE experience
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements
  • ASE Certifications

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, trailers, pumps, PTO systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and related components
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures efficiently and accurately
  • Complete work orders, maintenance documentation, and inspection records properly
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Work closely with operations and leadership to minimize downtime and maintain fleet readiness
  • Perform after-hours or emergency repairs when necessary
  • Follow all company safety procedures and DOT-related requirements
