About The Position

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is hiring multiple HD/ BEV Electricians to join their expanding McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time, camp-based position with travel support, located at the McIlvenna Bay site in Northern Saskatchewan, operating on a 14/14 rotation. Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is advancing the McIlvenna Bay project, a significant copper development project in Canada, with commercial production expected in mid-2026. The project contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver, crucial metals for the global transition to green energy. This position is part of the Electrical/Mechanical Team and is responsible for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). The role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the unique high-voltage electrical systems of BEV equipment and related charging infrastructure. Key duties include reading blueprints, testing and maintaining components like batteries and control modules, repairing wiring, ensuring safety code compliance, and using diagnostic tools for troubleshooting. This is a specialized role focusing on electronics, distinct from traditional building wiring.

Requirements

  • Industrial Electrician Red Seal certification.
  • 2+ yrs. experience as an Industrial Electrician in a mining or heavy industry setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of mining equipment, electrical/maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and their implications for electrical/maintenance activities at mine sites.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and implement timely repairs.
  • Ensure the reliability and efficiency of batteries, electrical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Optimize maintenance processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all electrical maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Diagnose electrical issues and equipment malfunctions, developing effective solutions to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements to improve electrical/maintenance processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical/maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
