About The Position

MWC is a state of the art cheese and whey production facility in St. Johns, MI. MWC is a joint venture between Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) and Select Milk Producers Inc. (Select). This role involves maintaining recipes for daily runs, ensuring run time for each vat, and maintaining daily logs. The position also requires adherence to safety and food safety regulations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain recipes for the daily run.
  • Maintain run time for each vat.
  • Maintain daily logs.
  • Ensure all ingredients schedule calls for goes into each vat- This includes any trial cultures, rennet or color.
  • Know where to find all steps on production log on HMI.
  • Be familiar with different recipes and contact TL if actual events do not match recipe.
  • Run required samples and contact TL if any results are out of range.
  • Record data into HCV vat report, HCV log sheet, Sanitize log and CIP log including ingredient lot numbers.
  • Ensure HCV's are properly short washed in between fills and that the sanitizer ppm is within range contact TL if not.
  • Ensure start-up and in-process micro samples are taken.
  • Ensure HCV's are properly long washed after the last fill per HCV each day.
  • Ensure all ingredients are staged and in specification for use.
  • Ensure rennet and color CIP is done properly and quickly each day in order to ensure good turn around.
  • Ensure each vat is inspected after CIP for any foreign material, water Etc. Report to TL.
  • Ensure curd line CIP is done properly and quickly each day in order to ensure good turn around.
  • Ensure that production schedule is adhered too.
  • Ensure environmental cleaning logs are completed and documented.
  • Ensure that culture freezer temp log and FIFO book are completed.
  • Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of MWC non-negotiables.
  • Comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued according to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance).
  • Research issues & incidents with internal teams, business partners and customers in a collaborative manner that includes professional, honest and transparent communication.
  • Work with internal and external teams to implement process improvements and/or procedural changes that eliminate non-value added activities and drive more business value.
  • Assist with training of new team members. Facilitate or oversee training and standard operating procedure reviews to ensure new hires develop proficiency of role.
  • Proactively engage to support our customer needs on an end to end basis and strive to meet or exceed SLA timelines. Take ownership of customer requests and engage with internal teams as needed and within a timely manner.
  • Meet or exceed all key metrics in line with expectations for role. Continually update knowledge of products, product changes, processes and services offered to deliver a dynamic customer experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
