About The Position

SUN Behavioral–Louisiana is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to work in the Winnsboro area. The organization’s mission is to improve the lives of patients and their communities through outcome-based, cost-effective mental health services delivered with dignity and respect, in a positive and enthusiastic environment that helps individuals reach their maximum potential. A Mental Health Specialist (MHS) provides Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) to children and adults with mental or behavioral health needs to improve mental health or treat illness. Services are provided in home, school, and community settings.

Requirements

Meet one of the following education or experience qualifications: a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Rehabilitation Services, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Secondary Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Criminal Justice, or Human Growth and Development; a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minor in Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology; or be at least 21 years old as of 1/1/2022, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and have been continuously employed by a licensed/accredited agency providing PSR services since before 1/1/2019.
Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

Provide Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services to children and adults with mental or behavioral health needs.
Help individuals improve their mental health or treat illness through PSR services.
Deliver services in home, school, and community settings.
