Description of Work: The North Carolina DMV is undertaking a major system modernization initiative to transition from legacy mainframe applications to a modern, scalable, and efficient platform. We are seeking both an intern and a fellow to support this transformation. These roles offer unique opportunities to gain hands-on experience in large-scale government IT modernization, vendor coordination, data management, and business process optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate study in: IT, data analytics, systems engineering, or public administration from NC HBCU/MSI.
  • Graduation date between 2023 - 2026
  • Experience with business process analysis, data governance, or enterprise systems.

  • Ability to work independently and manage complex tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead documentation and analysis of legacy workflows and data flows.
  • Coordinate with vendor teams to support implementation planning and integration.
  • Contribute to data governance strategy and business process redesign.
  • Develop dashboards or tools to monitor project progress and performance.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
