Join us to be a part of this transformative journey, where your impact will shape the future of technology and production. We are seeking a Hazardous Materials Technician to join our EHS team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring hazardous materials are handled and processed safely and with the highest level of environmental stewardship. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to keep high-precision manufacturing processes running smoothly and safely. As a Hazardous Materials Handler, you will be responsible for safe, compliant handling of regulated wastes as well as working throughout the business to ensure occupational safety and health requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
  • At least 1 year of experience handling, packaging, and shipping regulated wastes.
  • Experience with chemical segregation including (but not limited to) flammables, corrosives, reactive materials.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including (but not limited to) respiratory protection, flame-resistant uniform, and safety toe shoes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure EHS requirements are met.
  • Clear communication and documentation skills to effectively log environmental compliance data, occupational safety inspections, and implemented corrective actions.
  • Working knowledge of regulations governing regulated waste such as (but not limited to): Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA 40 CFR).
  • General knowledge of occupational safety requirements (29 CFR 1910) such as (but not limited to): lockout/tagout, electrical safety, personal protective equipment, fall protection, and confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the additive manufacturing industry.
  • Current certifications for: RCRA (California and federal) and Department of Transportation (DOT)
  • Experience with Microsoft, Excel and general computer efficiency for documentation of records.

Responsibilities

  • Cradle-to-grave handling of regulated wastes in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Conduct occupational safety inspections and interventions utilizing safety inspection software in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Implement industrial hygiene requirements such as (but not limited to): chemical exposure identification/control, noise monitoring, and respiratory protection
