About The Position

Asphalt Green is seeking energetic, expressive, and dependable performers to portray assigned characters during its annual Halloween programming at the Upper East Side campus. Actors interact with guests, follow established performance direction, and help create an immersive, fun, and memorable Haunted Maze experience. The role includes a required dress rehearsal and performances during Asphalt Screams and Halloween programming. This is a short-term seasonal opportunity for people who enjoy performing, interacting with guests, working with a creative team, and contributing to live events. Actors bring the maze to life by creating its energy, suspense, humor, and excitement. They stay in character, work together, and follow direction from the Haunted Maze Leads and Events team so the experience remains coordinated, engaging, and immersive. The position is temporary, part-time, and fully onsite at Asphalt Green’s Upper East Side campus. Candidates must be available for all three required dates: dress rehearsal on Wednesday, October 28, from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM; Asphalt Screams on Friday, October 30, from 12:30 PM to 7:00 PM; and Halloween Day on Saturday, October 31, from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The year is not specified. The live-event environment may include dim lighting, theatrical fog and fog machines, lasers, strobe or flashing lights, loud music and sound effects, costumes, props, crowds, and other special effects. Responsibilities

Perform an assigned character or role in the Haunted Maze and remain in character throughout assigned performance periods.
Use movement, expression, voice, timing, and body language to create an engaging guest experience.
Follow the maze’s theme, storyline, creative direction, and adjustments provided during rehearsal and event execution.
Interact with guests to support a fun, immersive, and appropriately spooky experience, while adapting to guest reactions and maintaining professional, appropriate interactions.
Attend the required dress rehearsal, learn character expectations, positioning, timing, and movement, and participate in maze walkthroughs and practice runs.
Learn the maze layout and assigned performance area and be ready to perform at the scheduled event start time.
Follow direction from the Events Coordinator, Haunted Maze Leads, and other designated event staff.
Collaborate with actors and staff, maintain awareness of timing, spacing, and other performers, and communicate concerns or support needs to event staff.
Help maintain a positive and cooperative environment during rehearsals and performances.
Follow event, facility, and safety procedures; remain aware of guests, props, temporary walls, equipment, and performers while moving through the maze.
Avoid physical contact with guests unless specifically directed and approved as part of the experience.
Immediately report safety concerns, injuries, or guest issues to event leadership.
Arrive on time and remain available for the full assigned shift.
