About The Position

Surface Haul Truck Driver Are you someone who likes to work with others? Can you work in an environment where you set the rhythm to keep the operations moving? Are you willing to operate machinery safely and see the success of an exciting industry? Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Surface Heavy Equipment Operator at our Eudora Quarry in Eudora, KS and will travel through Lawrence and West KC areas. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a valid driver's license
Valid US driver's license
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Knowledge of MSHA regulations
Effective verbal communication
Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance
Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling materials

Nice To Haves

Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred
1 + years related experience

Responsibilities

Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
Inspect equipment for signs of wear
Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
Work in a team environment
Clean work areas
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
Proper wear of personal protective equipment
Notify supervisors of repairs needed
Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
Perform duties with minimum supervision
