About The Position

This position is responsible for performing various hatchery tasks while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

Appropriate footwear is provided by the Company.
No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry.
Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl to be considered.
Will be trained to recognize and comply with all Safety procedures.
Must use safe lifting techniques.
Must regularly remove hatcher basket from stack of 15 high (overhead lifting) weighing 20-25lbs.
Must regularly lift and stack chick boxes (wheeled dolly) weighing up to 12 pounds and will occasionally be required to push or pull stacks of boxes up to 125 pounds.
Will regularly be required to pull/push 500 to 1000 pounds (wheeled carts).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk majority of shift (concrete floor); sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; talk or hear.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, icy, snowy and cold environments.
Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required.
Ear plugs will be used as required.
NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
Disinfectants such as Synergize, Lysol, bleach, etc.
Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Loading Separator – placing hatcher baskets of newly hatched chicks onto machine to gently transfer chicks from baskets to conveyor belt
Removing/stacking newly counted chicks from conveyer belt after being place in chick box
Removing cleaned disinfected hatcher basket from tray washer and stacking them onto dollies
Cleaning and disinfecting pull room, hatchers and chick room
Pulling cleaned hatcher baskets back down hall and placing in machine
Dumping eggs into hopper
Push and pull full carts of eggs
Set into setter and pull from setter, performing egg set and egg transfer
Operate a high pressure and regular water hose
Operate box washer
Maintain a clean and organized work area
