Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends. This position averages 40-45 hours per week and includes working holidays. Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule. The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines. Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months.
  • If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months.
  • Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.

  • Previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pulls chicks and places for processing; properly disposes of substandard chicks; operates high pressure washer to clean trays, dollies, hatchery and operates a high pressure hose to sanitize trays, dollies, hatchery and equipment.
  • Pads up to 1500 empty chick boxes weighing approximately 2 pounds.
  • Lift box of 100 chicks weighing approximately 15 pounds and stacks into stacks of 10, 1500 times.
  • Pushes 10 stacked boxes with birds averaging 15 pounds per box into a row approximately 150 times.
  • Push/pull hatcher baskets on casters full of chicks into Pull Room weighing approximately 500 – 1000 pounds.
  • Places up to 150,000 chicks weighing approximately 40 grams onto belt.
  • Must take hatcher baskets off stacks of 15 high. Each baskets weighing approximately 35 pounds. This does require overhead lifting.
  • Putting empty trays (48 inches x 16.8 inches) weighing approximately 6.25 pounds into tray wash machine.
  • Take clean, empty trays out of tray washer and restack into stacks of 15 high approximately 1300 times.
  • Read temperatures and turn failures in setters and read temperature and humidity in incubators every three hours, wash and foam pull and traywash rooms using a high pressure hose and regular water hose, pulls loaded setter buggies on casters weighing approximately 700-1300 pounds, operates box washer, maintains a clean and organized work area, properly euthanize weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy.
