About The Position

The Hatchery Worker Labor position is a full-time role on the 1st shift (Day) at the Green Forest Hatchery. The work days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with hours varying from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or until finished. A flexible work schedule is required. The starting pay is $16.90 per hour. This role involves significant physical labor, including moving heavy racks of product, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, practicing safe egg and chick handling, and adhering to Animal Welfare Guidelines. Requirements

  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl.
  • An Animal Welfare background check is required.
  • Will not consider applicants who have worked for Tyson Foods 3X or more.
  • Rehire Criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Must have 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the previous 12 months.
  • Only applicants from the following counties in Arkansas will be considered: Carroll, Boone, Newton, Madison County, AR or Stone County in MO, or within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
  • Internal Applicants: Must meet all of the requirements of an External Applicant.
  • Internal Applicants: Must not have more than 6 Attendance Points at time of posting.
  • Internal Applicants: Must not have a Written Warning or Written Warning with Suspension within the past 6 months.
  • Internal Applicants: Must be out of probationary period, if no other qualified Internal Applicant within the facility, a probationary (Internal Team Member within the facility or the NWA Complex will be considered).
  • Must be willing and able to perform the following: work in a fast-paced environment, stand for extended periods up to 10 plus hours, lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally throughout the shift (assistance with lifting over 30 lbs), work in warm/hot temperatures with high humidity, bend, reach, push, pull, climb, twist, or perform repetitive motions as required by the position, work at an elevated level, work in an area with a high concentration of allergens such as chick down, dust, feathers, blood, etc.
  • Must be willing and able to push rolling racks weighing up to 900 lbs, this is considered a Heavy Lifting job.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Moving racks of product weighing approximately 900 lbs. or greater consistently throughout the day, approximately 48 racks, and/or boxes throughout the facility.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workspace, including counting, reading, scrubbing, soaping, rinsing, disinfecting, mopping, or buffing to meet all sanitation requirements.
  • Practicing safe and delicate egg and chick handling.
  • Promoting and practicing proper Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • Completing all tasks or duties assigned by management.
  • Following all Tyson biosecurity policies and procedures, including any facility-specific requirements related to personal protective equipment, visitor restrictions, animal/product contact, sanitation, and movement between areas as required.
