About The Position

The Hatchery Worker Labor position (HY01) is a full-time role on the 1st shift, working a 4-day week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Hours vary, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or until finished, requiring a flexible work schedule. The starting pay is $16.90 per hour. This role involves significant physical labor, including moving heavy racks of product, maintaining a clean and safe workspace through various sanitation tasks, and practicing safe egg and chick handling while promoting proper Animal Welfare Guidelines. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform all assigned tasks and duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl.
  • An Animal Welfare background check is required.
  • Will not consider applicants who have worked for Tyson Foods 3X or more.
  • Rehire Criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Must have 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the previous 12 months.
  • Only applicants from the following counties in Arkansas will be considered: Carroll, Boone, Newton, Madison County, AR or Stone County in MO, or within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
  • Internal Applicants must meet all of the requirements of an External Applicant.
  • Internal Applicants must not have more than 6 Attendance Points at time of posting.
  • Internal Applicants must not have a Written Warning or Written Warning with Suspension within the past 6 months.
  • Internal Applicants must be out of probationary period, if no other qualified Internal Applicant within the facility, a probationary (Internal Team Member within the facility or the NWA Complex will be considered).

Responsibilities

  • Moving racks of product weighing approximately 900 lbs. or greater consistently throughout the day, approximately 48 racks, and/or boxes throughout the facility.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workspace, including counting, reading, scrubbing, soaping, rinsing, disinfecting, mopping, or buffing to meet all sanitation requirements.
  • Practicing safe and delicate egg and chick handling.
  • Promoting and practicing proper Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • Completing all tasks or duties assigned by management.
  • Pushing rolling racks weighing up to 900 lbs.
